Nils Böddingmeier lives and works in both Berlin and Freiburg, Germany. He graduated from Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie, Berlin in the class of Göran Gnaudschun. Before studying photography, he graduated from Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg in forestry science.
In his Master's degree, he focused on human land use and its impact on the environment. His photographic work pursues this correlation with an approach on the borderline between documentary and artistic photography. He is passionate about working on topics related to rural traditions, rituals and crafts. The line in which the exchange between humans and nature is tangible. In addition to his own projects, Nils Böddingmeier also works on commission.
